On Trees in Urban Areas
Did you know that since nineteen-eighty, all trees within ten miles of any major city are mandatorily implanted with a device that emits a mild insecticide? It's the only thing that keeps bees and other pests from swarming tree-lined streets. Washington D.C.'s cherry blossoms used to attract more than ten million bees per week.

Is this true? If so, what is your source if information? I find this difficult to believe. It is far more likely that the emissions are merely an insect repellent. Otherwise, there would be hundreds of dead bees all over the streets and sidewalks. Do they bore from the top? Or from the bottom? Bottom would be best, that would be the best way to ide the bore hole, but I still have a hard tiem believing that they do this. Why would they have to put them in the trees themselves?
